Lady Celebrates 12 Years of Full-Time Blogging

I’m celebrating 12 years of full-time blogging today! At the beginning of 2010, I quit my day job to make a career of running the A Lady in London blog. I haven’t looked back since.

12 Years of Full-Time Blogging

Running a travel blog for a living has been an adventure. It’s taken me all over the world (I’ve visited over 100 countries), and I’ve seen more of London than I ever dreamed of.

It’s a huge amount of work—7 days a week, 365 days a year, and I haven’t had a day off since I started the blog 14 years ago—but I love what I do. Getting to interact with my community of supporters and followers (that’s you!) has been incredibly rewarding.

Blogging in the Past Year

The last 2 years have seen both my industry and my business get hit hard, but things are starting to recover.

Since July I’ve spent 7 days in Phuket, 4 days in Edinburgh, 3 days in Bordeaux, and 2 days in Brighton. I’ve taken days trips to Rye, the Cotswolds, and Amersham, too.

And that’s to say nothing of trips to Ireland, Belgium, Eastbourne, Canterbury and Dover, San Francisco, Palma de Mallorca, Stratford-upon-Avon, Iceland, and more.

I’ve also explored more of London in the past year. From Highbury to Canonbury, Barnsbury, Stoke Newington, and Muswell Hill, I’ve written a lot of London neighborhood guides based on my experiences.

On the lifestyle side, I’ve published blog posts about what to wear in London, where to live in London, London garden design ideas, scenic drives near London, and British Christmas drinks, shopping, and desserts.

When it comes to walks, I’ve written guides to a lot of free self-guided London walks and country walks near London.

From a Moreton-in-Marsh walk to a Burford circular walk, the Oak Trail in Epping Forest, a Marlow walk, and a Bloomsbury walk in London, I’ve spanned a wide range of areas. I’ve even published a London walks book list and a guide to secret London walks.

Social Media

I’ve also continued building up the A Lady in London YouTube channel, which has been a great way to share more of London and other places around the world with you.

From east London areas to north London neighborhoods and places further afield, I’ve covered a lot of great destinations in my videos.

And that’s to say nothing of the A Lady in London TikTok account, on which I’ve been having fun creating short videos. If you’re not following me there, make sure to head over and take a look.
