Lady’s 9 Notting Hill Pubs You’ll Love in London

Today I want to share about the best Notting Hill pubs with you. Over in west London, this popular neighborhood is packed with fun places to eat and drink. From classic boozers to cozy corners and big beer gardens, Notting Hill has a pub for every taste and preference. Read on for a list of my favorites. I’ve included a map, too.

Notting Hill Pubs

I’ve been going to Notting Hill since I moved to London, and I’ve spent a lot of time with friends in the local pubs over the years. It’s one of my favorite things to do in Notting Hill.

I’ve enjoyed summer afternoons in the beer garden at The Sun In Splendour, and winter evenings holed up at The Cow and eating comfort food at The Prince Bonaparte.

Which is to say nothing of the days I whiled away as I ate Sunday roast at Portobello Road pubs or sat upstairs at The Oak. Suffice it to say I’ve gained a good knowledge of Notting Hill pubs since I moved to London. Today I want to impart it to you.

Whether you like to seek out traditional English dishes or classic English drinks, Notting Hill pubs with beer gardens or Notting pubs with outdoor terraces, there’s a place here for you.

1. The Cow, Notting Hill

I’ll start my list of Notting Hill pubs with The Cow. This cozy gastropub on Westbourne Park Road is one of my favorite places to eat and drink in west London.

That’s not least because its lively upstairs dining room takes me back to a bygone era. The intimate space is popular with celebrities, too, so I always make sure to keep my eye out for famous faces while I’m here.

The Cow is also famous for its Guinness & Oysters, and it’s a great place to enjoy a full range of classic British pub food.

2. The Sun In Splendour, Notting Hill

Next on my list of the best Notting Hill pubs is The Sun In Splendour. Situated on the famous Portobello Road near Notting Hill Gate, its bright yellow facade offers guests a cheerful welcome.

Inside, this Victorian pub has an array of wooden tables and chairs in front of big windows. But the real treat is outside, where there’s a secret beer garden. It’s a fun place to eat and drink on warm days.

3. The Oak W2, Notting Hill

The Oak W2 is another of the best pubs in Notting Hill. Up on Westbourne Park Road, this place is famous for its wood-fired pizzas and cool upstairs bar.

I love meeting friends for casual lunches downstairs or going for drinks in the evening upstairs. The chic lounge is the perfect place to enjoy classic British cocktails in London.

4. The Walmer Castle, Notting Hill

On Ledbury Road, The Walmer Castle is one of the best Notting Hill pubs if you love all things Scottish. This restaurant and cocktail bar features gourmet fare inspired by Speyside, Scotland in the dining room on the ground floor.

Upstairs, there are 400 different whiskies on offer in the Spey Bar. You can also choose from a range of cocktails. It’s a great place to go to get a taste of the Highlands in London.

5. The Prince Bonaparte, Notting Hill

The Prince Bonaparte is another of my favorite Notting Hill pubs. Located on the corner of Chepstow Road and Talbot Road, this local number is known for its open atmosphere and modern decor. It has a mix of booths and tables to choose from, too.

The Prince Bonaparte’s chef is known for using cooking techniques involving charcoal fireside cooking to smoke, grill, and char dishes and drinks alike. I always enjoy meeting friends here for leisurely lunches on weekend afternoons.

6. The Duke of Wellington Pub, Notting Hill

Next on my list of the best Notting Hill pubs is The Duke of Wellington.

This 19th-century number is famous for having appeared in the opening scenes of the iconic London movie Notting Hill. It’s also where Adele signed her first recording contract.

Located on a corner in the heart of the famous Portobello Road Market, The Duke of Wellington features a ground-floor lounge filled with comfy seating and a first-floor dining room serving all the British pub classics.

I love coming here with friends after a busy day of browsing the market. It’s a great place to relax and unwind.

7. Cock & Bottle, Notting Hill

Tucked away on Needham Road, the Cock & Bottle is a traditional Notting Hill pub. This Victorian number is beloved by locals for its friendly atmosphere and good food and drinks.

The Cock & Bottle has been lovingly restored and retains a historic atmosphere rich with dark woods and all the ambiance one could want in a classic pub.

The drinks menu includes a range of craft beers and a strong selection of wines. When it comes to dining, there’s great pub food downstairs and a rotating seasonal menu upstairs.

8. The Elgin, Notting Hill

The Elgin is another of the best Notting Hill pubs. Located on busy Ladbroke Grove, this Grade II listed number has a Victorian past that’s reflected in its etched mirrors and stained glass.

It’s even on the Campaign for Real Ale’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.

The Elgin is consistently voted one of the best pubs in Notting Hill. Its menu features seasonal British fare and mouth-watering Sunday roasts, and its beer garden is popular with locals and visitors alike.

9. The KPH, Notting Hill

Just down the road from The Elgin, The KPH is another of the most popular Notting Hill pubs. It’s famous for being one of London’s original live music venues.

This place features contemporary decor and Art Deco touches. The drinks menu offers a range of ales and a specially-curated wine list. The kitchen serves British pub classics, steaks, and traditional Sunday roasts.

It’s not just food and drink here, either. The KPH has seven boutique hotel rooms with beautiful decor, too. They’re great places to stay in the heart of one of London’s most famous neighborhoods. You can book a room here.
