It’s summer in London. Or as summery as it gets in this part of the world. But even if the sun isn’t shining, the city is in bloom, the days are long, and there’s a sense of optimism in the air. This is one of my favorite times of year to be in London, not least because there’s so much going on. If you’re in London this summer, here’s a guide to the best of the capital.
Spring has arrived in London. The city is bursting with color and life, and the roses smell amazing. The annual Chelsea Flower Show takes place each May, but there’s an even more exciting festival going on, too. Chelsea in Bloom sees shopfronts in and around Sloane Square come to life in a riot of flowers and foliage. Here’s a lovely look at what’s in store. I’ve included a map, too.
Mayfair, London is synonymous with luxury. Hotels, shops, tailors, and purveyors of the finer things in life aspire to new levels of hedonism here. Everything is immaculate, from the streets to the gardens and squares. But this London neighborhood isn’t just a display case. It’s a living part of the city, and there are a lot of things to do in Mayfair. Today I want to share my favorites with you.
Westminster isn’t exactly under the radar. With Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, this London neighborhood is one of the most visited in the city.
