Today I want to bring you my Threadneedles hotel in London review. This 5-star boutique hotel in the Square Mile is one of the best places to stay in London. I’ll show you why.
Threadneedles Hotel in London Review
After traveling all over Europe, Asia, South America, and the Middle East over the last few months, I was excited to get back to London for a while.
But I was still in the travel mentality when I got back to the UK, so when I was invited to review Threadneedles hotel in London, I decided to do it.
Even if I hadn’t been in a traveling mood, I wouldn’t have passed up a complimentary stay at a 5-star hotel in London. Would you?
Threadneedles Hotel in London
The hotel, which was set in a former Victorian banking hall, was located right by the Bank of England in the City of London.
It was a Saturday when I arrived. Weekends are a notoriously quiet time in the neighborhood, what with it being primarily a financial district.
But not this weekend. The first thing I noticed when I emerged from the tube at Bank station was a wedding at the Royal Exchange.
Not far from there a photo shoot was taking place. It featured a debonair male model posing in front of a luxury sports car. Not bad for a weekend in the City.
Threadneedles Hotel Lobby
When I reached the hotel, I checked in at the reception desk. It was located next to a spacious lobby that rested under a beautiful stained-glass dome that dated back to 1856.
I’d been there once for afternoon tea at Threadneedles hotel, and I’d enjoyed it.
Near the lobby was a bar with dark leather seats, and beyond that was the restaurant. The latter was closed, as it always is on weekends.
Thankfully, I had a chance to dine there last year, so I knew the food was as good as one would expect from a restaurant in a 5-star hotel in London.
Suite at Threadneedles Hotel
After looking around the lobby of Threadneedles hotel in London, I took the elevator up to my room, which was a suite.
The door opened onto a short hallway with a large closet that came complete with an iron, robes, and other amenities.
At the end of the hall was the bedroom, which was a spacious area with high ceilings. It was decorated in neutral grays with crimson accents, and contained a large bed, chair, and big television.
Adjacent to the suite’s bedroom was the bathroom, which had a tub, separate shower, and large sink area.
Around the corner from the bedroom was a sitting room. It contained a desk with ample space for my laptop and other odds and ends.
I spent no small amount of time sitting at said desk during my stay at Threadneedles hotel, and I found it a good place to work.
The room also had a relaxing chair and a floor-to-ceiling bookcase.
Overall, the space had a calming ambiance, which matched the mood outside and would have been a great haven from the bustle of the City had it been a weekday.
My stay in the suite at Threadneedles hotel in London was a pleasant one. I liked the room, the bed was comfortable, and the atmosphere was surprisingly quiet given the location in the heart of the City.
The only things that weren’t perfect were the water pressure in the shower, which was almost painfully strong, and the conditioner, which left a strange residue on my hair. Aside from that, everything was great.
Breakfast at Threadneedles Hotel in London
And so was the breakfast. Despite the restaurant being closed during my stay, the kitchen was open to serve breakfast to guests.
The menu was so extensive it took me ages to decide, and when I did decide I went with what I always order: eggs Benedict. It was a good choice, too. The sauce was creamy and copious, and the eggs were cooked to perfection.
It was one of the better eggs Benedicts I’ve had in a while, and I was happy to end my stay at Threadneedles hotel in London on a high note.
Threadneedles Hotel in London Review
And a foodie note. After all, I wasn’t back in London for long before I took my next trip, which was to Italy.
Enjoying good food for my Threadneedles hotel in London review set the tone for what was to be a traveling feast for the senses, especially the sense of taste.

Ohhhhhh….very nice, but you sold me with the Korres products.
I’m hoping to make it to London soon. Will keep you posted?
Thanks Angie. As I mentioned in the post, the Korres products were the only thing I didn’t like about the stay. Other than that, the hotel was great!
How fun! Did I tell you that my mom, Laura and I stayed there in March?? 🙂 I think it was while you were in Peru or something so we couldn’t meet up. We stayed in a suite too and liked it – breakfast was great! Kinda funny – our bathroom door was basically see-through which was a bit weird… and the wifi didn’t work very well in the room but they were super helpful about trying to get it to work for us – eventually the wired connection worked. oh and my hair felt super weird when I left – like the shampoo wasn’t washed out. but then I got a complimentary bumble & bumble treatment at heathrow so it turned out okay. 🙂
Wow, that’s such a coincidence that you stayed there in March, Emily! I had no idea. It’s funny that we both felt like the hair products didn’t wash out. I’m glad I’m not the only one!
Thanks so much for this great resource. You also offer a valuable service to help save time.!
