Lady’s Photos of Spring in London

Today I want to share my photos of spring in London. The UK capital is beautiful all year, but in these months it comes alive with spring flowers.

Spring in London

Last month I was hoping for spring. I really was. But then the cold weather kept coming and the rain kept pouring and I kept escaping to warmer places.

Finally, though, spring has made it to London. And it couldn’t have chosen a better time for its debut.

My birthday was this week, and my boyfriend got me a DSLR camera after his first gift, a cycling trip in Umbria, was destroyed by the volcanic ash cloud.

I’ve had a chance to test the camera around Hampstead this week, documenting the arrival of spring in case winter decides to come back and ruin everything.

Or in case we get that barbecue summer the Met Office has been promising for three years. No. Wait. That won’t happen.

But regardless of how much or little spring is left, it’s here now for the taking. And take I did. I took as many photos of spring foliage and flora as I could.

Up to Windmill Hill I walked, scouting the tiny blossoms.

Then on to Hampstead Heath for more.

And over to the Hill Garden and Pergola, one of my favorite secret gardens in London.

Ultimately I ended up in Golders Hill Park, where the spring gardens were bursting with canary yellow daffodils, burgundy tulips, and vanilla hyacinths.

And because this is me, I also took a few food photos along the way. (Not pictured: The ice cream cone I was holding in one hand while trying to take half of the above springtime pictures in the other).

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these photos of spring in Hampstead and Golders Hill Park. It’s a beautiful season in London and I hope it lasts.

If not, summer is my next favorite season and I’m sure it will come soon. If the Met Office can be trusted, anyway.
