1. Best Chocolate Shops in London

There’s no shortage of chocolate shops in London, but I have a favorite: Charbonnel et Walker in the Royal Arcade on Bond Street in Mayfair.

The classic truffles and creams at Charbonnel et Walker always make great gifts (even if I give them to myself). Their royal-themed gift boxes are oh-so-British, too.

Best Hot Chocolate in London

There’s nothing like a cup of hot chocolate to warm my soul on a cold London day. And when I’m in the mood, there are two places that satisfy my craving.

The first is Rococo Chocolates, which has shops on the King’s Road in Chelsea and Moxon Street in Marylebone.

Their hot chocolate is rich and decadent, and it brings me straight back to childhood. It’s some of the best hot chocolate in London.

The second is Scootercaffe, where I never expected to find hot chocolate. This little gem near Waterloo station is full of vintage charm and serves up one of the richest, thickest hot chocolates I’ve ever had.

Best Chocolate Ice Cream in London

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there’s nothing more satisfying than ice cream on warm days. And one of my favorite places to find it is at Oddono’s.

There are branches in London neighborhoods like South Kensington, Hampstead, East Dulwich, Stoke Newington, Chiswick, Battersea, and Wimbledon, so I’m never far from one.

While not technically ice cream, their gelato is still sinfully rich and incredibly moreish. It has some of London’s best chocolate in it.

A more traditional choice is The Parlour at Fortnum & Mason on Piccadilly. The cafe specializes in ice cream, from sundaes to coupes. Yum.

Best Chocolate Drinks in London

Hot chocolate isn’t the only kind of chocolate drink around. There are some London shops and restaurants doing innovative things with chocolate beverages.

Being American, nothing excites me more than a good milkshake. There are a lot of places in London that miss the mark on this classic, but Shake Shack comes to the rescue every time.

Better yet, their signature Concretes blend custards with everything from mint chocolate fudge to chocolate-covered marshmallows. Sacrilicious.

Best Chocolate Cupcakes in London

It doesn’t take much to tempt me for a chocolate cupcake, but when that cupcake comes from one of London’s best cake shops I don’t need coaxing.

Regular readers know I’m obsessed with Peggy Porschen in Belgravia, but I’m also a sucker for Primrose Bakery’s cupcakes in Primrose Hill.

Primrose Bakery’s chocolate cupcakes are not only delicious, but also come with great decorations for all seasons and occasions.
