Today I finally got to send in my HSMP application for my UK visa! I’m so glad to finally have it out of my hands and in the mail.
I was held up for a few extra days when the awful translation company I was working with (see earlier post) sent me a finalized copy of my diploma translation in the mail and there were STILL grammatical errors.
Who knew that the “year of our Lord” could double as the “year or our Lord”? I was pretty upset.
When I told the company I wanted my money back, they agreed but the sales guy/president/owner/what-have-you told me that it didn’t matter that there were errors since the government would recognize it anyway.
Wow. What a way to run a business. In case anyone needs to avoid a terrible translation service in the future, email me and I’ll give you the name.
Anyway, back to being excited about my visa application being done!
I found a great translation company called Ultra Translate to do a last-minute rush translation and they turned it around (with no errors!) in three days (including a Saturday and a Sunday!).
I got the FedEx today and sent the whole package off this afternoon. Now all I have to do is wait…
