If there’s one place that gets my inner photographer excited in London, it’s Elizabeth Street. This gem in Belgravia is famous for its floral facades and pink cafes, and it’s one of the most beautiful spots in the city. If you want to learn more, today I bring you my guide to Elizabeth Street in London.

Elizabeth Street, London

Elizabeth Street, London

Elizabeth Street might just be the loveliest street in London. With many of its buildings dating back to the 1860s, the street is full of heritage architecture.

It shows off the elegance Belgravia is known for and provides a great backdrop for the shops and restaurants that line the road.

Elizabeth Street has become increasingly popular in recent years following a floral facade trend that’s taken London by storm. This street is the epicenter of it, and people flock to the shops to take in the blooms and photograph them.

How to Get to Elizabeth Street

Elizabeth Street is a short walk from Victoria Station, so it’s easy to get here on the tube or via train. A lot of local buses stop outside the station, too.

Sloane Square tube station is also nearby. If you’re coming from the west you can get off there and take a pretty walk through Belgravia on your way.

Victoria Coach Station is on Elizabeth Street, too. It’s not often that a central bus station is on the prettiest street in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city, but that’s the case in London.

If you’re coming into or going out of London on a bus, it’s fun to explore the street before or after you head off to your final destination.

Now that you know how to get here, I’ll start my guide with my favorite thing: the floral facades on Elizabeth Street.

The displays border the windows and adorn the doorways of buildings up and down the street, and they add great color to the area. The silk flowers draw visitors and locals year-round, and they’re what puts this street on the map.

The displays change seasonally, so it’s worth coming back again and again to see them and check what’s new.

Some shops update their flowers quarterly, some do temporary arrangements for special seasons, holidays, or events, and others do pop-up floral art when they have a special reason to.

From Valentine’s Day hearts to Christmas trees, they add a nice touch to any season.

Pretty Cafes on Elizabeth Street

Another thing I love about Elizabeth Street is that it has some of the best cute cafes in London.

Peggy Porschen is the most eye-catching among them. It has a bright pink facade and ever-changing flower displays. This cake shop is one of the most photographed places in Belgravia, and a fun place to have tea and cupcakes with friends.

Shops on Elizabeth Street

There’s more than just cafes to draw people to Elizabeth Street, too. Interspersed among the cakes and pastries are pretty shops selling everything from cashmere clothing to high-end pet accessories.

There are wine shops, perfume stores, florists, children’s clothing boutiques, and shoe stores. There’s even a pharmacy that looks like it’s been around since Victorian times.

Everyone loves Jo Loves, and it’s hard not to want a dog whenever I pass by Mungo and Maud. It’s always fun to browse and buy here, what with there being so many beautiful things to choose from.

Places to Eat on Elizabeth Street

There are a lot of good places to eat on Elizabeth Street, too. While the cafes are great for tea and cake, there are also restaurants, pubs, and bakeries that offer a variety of savory foods.

Poilane is a favorite for bread. This Parisian bakery is known for its divine carbs, and I love the big loaves inside.

When it comes to pubs, The Thomas Cubitt is one of my favorites in London. Upstairs or down, inside or out, I always have a good time eating and drinking here with friends.

And if I just want a pizza, Oliveto is my go-to. This casual place is perfect for lunch or dinner, and a great meeting point for days or evenings out on Elizabeth Street.

Elizabeth Street Christmas Market

When Christmas comes around, Elizabeth Street is the place to be. Not only does the street put up festive lights (and flowers, of course), but the annual Elizabeth Street Christmas Market is a highlight.

Taking place on just one day in December, it’s a special event on London’s seasonal calendar.

The market brings the street alive with carol singers, mulled wine, craft stalls, and more. It’s a fun place to get into the seasonal spirit.

  1. It was on my itinerary for last summer and got cut when we decided to go to Borough Market after our Westminster walking tour. Another reason to go back! We had six nights but really only four days due to day trips — it was not enough in London!

  2. I just stumbled across your site while looking at Hampstead Heath, Kenwood House, Holly Village and how to get to those 3 without getting lost. This is a great resource, especially for a single traveler. Passing this on to my sister as a tease to talk her into a visit to London with me.

  3. This is the first time I have seen a street that looks so amazingly beautiful that I want to walk down and explore.Planning to visit the UK as soon as possible and this is on my must see list.

  4. I’m definitely going to check out Elizabeth St on my visit in April. I’m 68 and this will be my 5th visit to England, so I have seen many of the obvious tourist attractions. I’m looking forward to just being in London and searching out the hidden gems. Thanks for sharing all the curious and wonderful places you’ve discovered !
