Today I want to bring you my guide to artistic Paris. The City of Light is known for many things, and art is one of the best. Read on to find where to discover the best art in Paris.
Artistic Paris
It started with a visit to the Rodin Museum in Paris. The famous sculptor’s works were dotted throughout a beautiful manicured rose garden, complete with fountains and topiary hedges.
From The Thinker to the Gates of Hell, some of Rodin’s best-known sculptures were on display under beautiful blue skies.
Artistic Paris: Food
My tour of artistic Paris continued in the form of food. I was invited to have dinner at Restaurant Le Dali at Le Meurice, a famous Parisian luxury hotel near the Louvre.
As soon as I walked in, I was surrounded by surrealism. From twisted columns at the entrance to chairs with women’s high-heeled calves as legs, the restaurant was decorated to match its namesake. It was all artistic Paris.
The meal itself was a good one, starting with a great goat cheese salad and moving to classic duck confit before finishing with a sweet chocolate ending.
A friend was with me on the trip, and we spent several leisurely hours dining under a beautiful surrealistic ceiling as live music wafted through the historic room.
Artistic Paris: Hotel
Back at our hotel, the Prince de Galles, we encountered more highlights of artistic Paris. I had stayed at the hotel many times in years past, and was invited back for a visit on this trip.
It was exciting to be there again, and to see the artistic way famous designer Pierre-Yves Rochon had played on the hotel’s original Art Deco design.
Our room at the Prince de Galles was furnished with sleek black tables, brown lacquered cabinets, and white bed linens. Mirrored walls gave a feeling of spaciousness, and red pillows and chairs added nice touches of color.
We even had a balcony overlooking the luxury shops on Avenue George V.
Downstairs, the restaurants were designed by Bruno Borrione in contemporary style. Eclectic furniture and eye-catching lamps kitted out the bar, and a calm white color scheme pervaded the restaurant.
Deeper down was Rochon’s fitness center, a sleek space that looked so much like an art museum I was almost inspired to work out.
Sunday Market on Boulevard Beaumarchais
Almost. But there was more to see outside of the hotel, and my friend and I went out to discover more of artistic Paris.
This time it came in the form of a Sunday market on Boulevard Beaumarchais. The entire street was lined with stalls selling antiques and vintage furniture.
We walked the length of it, taking in everything from etched glassware to pretty decorative items.
Antique books and postcards entertained us as we strolled, and every stall was so well merchandised that the market was a work of art in itself.
Art in Paris
By the time we headed to Gare du Nord to catch our train back to London (compliments of Eurostar, who offered me tickets after I shot a video with them last week), my friend and I had seen lots of artistic Paris.
From museums to restaurants, hotels to markets, we got our fill and found plenty of reasons to come back again. I hope you get a chance to discover the best of artistic Paris someday, too.

Paris is interesting in more ways than one! It’s a city that has earned the status of being a vintage destination, but just when we think we know all about it – there are surprises in store!

They are not quite the same as at the hotels of Avenue George V, but they are pretty close!
Anyway, I am off to book a flight now thanks to your article 🙂
