Lady’s Guide to the Henley Royal Regatta

The English summer season is in full swing. With the Chelsea Flower Show and Royal Ascot finished, Wimbledon and now the Henley Royal Regatta are underway. After last week’s visit to the tennis, I headed out west yesterday to spend a sunny day at the rowing, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year. And because my guide to Wimbledon was so well received, today I bring you A Lady in London’s guide to the Henley Royal Regatta.

Lady at Afternoon Tea in Henley

I have been going to afternoon tea in London a lot lately. But there are other cities in England and the UK where tea is done well, too. It’s only fair to give them a chance, right? Last week I was invited to afternoon tea in Henley-on-Thames at the Hotel du Vin, and I accepted the opportunity to try afternoon tea in another city.

Lady at the Henley Regatta

There’s nothing like a traditional English summer event to get me excited about celebrating American Independence Day. Actually, that’s completely untrue. But I do like traditional English events, and if one happens to fall on Fourth of July weekend, so be it. This year, like every year, the event happened to be the Henley Royal Regatta.
