It’s August. Things are slowing down in offices all over London, people are going on their annual vacations (er, holidays), and London is finally warming up after an abysmal start to the summer. The recent heatwave has prompted me to spend more time outdoors, and one of the places that I have frequented is Notting Hill.

Last month I went to the opening of the new Bistro du Vin Soho. The party was one of the most decadent, hedonistic, sumptuous culinary extravaganzas I have ever experienced.

There’s no better way to spend a perfect English summer day than at the races. After Royal Ascot in June, I wasn’t sure I would be back at the races again before the fall, but I got an invitation to attend Glorious Goodwood on Saturday and I couldn’t wait to go.
