Lady in Fulham

My ash cloud-induced staycation in London continued on Sunday. Because I enjoyed Wimbledon so much on Saturday, I decided to spend the afternoon in another new-to-me London neighborhood: Fulham.

Lady Launches Travel Planning Services

Anyone who has seen my blog knows that I love to travel. In booking, planning, and doing so much traveling over the last three years I have become quite a travel expert.

My passion for traveling led me to leave my day job in February to focus on building a travel business as a full time endeavor.

As part of that endeavor, today I’m proud to announce a new facet of A Lady in London: travel planning services. If you have an upcoming trip in the works and you would like advice on planning your transport, hotels, sightseeing, restaurants, or any other aspect of your trip, I would be happy to assist.

I can help you with everything from snagging those elusive £9 train fares to York to finding the best restaurants and new museums for your vacation or holiday in France.

I will share all the tips and tricks I’ve learned on the road (including how I manage to get upgraded on flights all the time!), and the first-hand knowledge of the cities and countries I’ve lived and traveled in.

So check it out. Give it a whirl. Let me know what you think, good or bad. And most importantly, tell your friends. And family. And coworkers. And random people on the street.

If you enjoy my blog, you’ll love my travel planning services.

So without further shameless plugs, here’s the new Travel Planning Services site:

Enjoy!

Lady in Wimbledon

London is a huge city. I feel like I could live my entire life here and not see all there is to see. Even in the two and a half years I’ve lived in Hampstead, there are still a few glaring holes in my knowledge of London. One of those holes is Wimbledon.

Lady Gets Spring

Last month I was hoping for spring. I really was. But then the cold weather kept coming and the rain kept pouring and I kept escaping to warmer places.

Lady’s New Hampstead

I was supposed to be cycling through Umbria today. Green fields, pastoral scenes, and wind sweeping through my hair were all on the itinerary. But thanks to our new friend The Volcanic Ash Cloud, my cycling tour of Umbria was cancelled and I’m grounded in Blighty for the foreseeable future.

It’s not all bad, though. In fact, it’s kind of a blessing in disguise. I’ve been traveling so much over the past few months that my lovely Hampstead has become almost unrecognizable to me. It was high time I got to know my neighborhood again after some important recent changes in the village.

Lady in Brooklyn

After a week of family fun and culinary indulgence in San Francisco, I took my moveable feast to New York to visit my cousin in Brooklyn. She and I went to Brown together but haven’t seen much of each other since then, so I thought it would be fun to stop by for the weekend on my way back to London.

Lady in San Francisco

Every six months or so I find an excuse to travel back to San Francisco. Sometimes the excuse is work, sometimes it’s family or friends, sometimes it’s holidays, and sometimes it’s something that brings together any number of those elements.

Lady in Sevilla for Semana Santa

It’s Semana Santa in Sevilla. The city is packed and the narrow streets are full of processions. Dressed in long robes and colorful pointed hats, the local brotherhoods are bringing elaborate floats to the cathedral, some of them walking miles in bare feet just to get there.
