Lady of Leisure

Yesterday was my last day of work at the hedge fund in San Francisco, and today is my first day as a lady of leisure. I woke up this morning at 7:30 and was a little disappointed that I couldn’t sleep in any later. I guess that will come with time. After waking up at 5:30 for three years, 7:30 counts as progress.

I have to admit that I was anxious this morning. I know I should have been feeling carefree and excited, but the combination of the pressure to feel those things and the fact that my future is still somewhat up in the air is freaking me out a little bit.

That said, I have adjusted quite well to the life of leisure. I took a long walk this morning, cooked myself chicken masala for lunch, did a little shopping, and finally finished my 2006 tax return. For someone living a life of leisure, I certainly have accomplished a lot today.

Does the life of leisure last forever? Sadly, no. But I have new exciting adventures planned. Namely, I’m planning to move to London! The International Woman of Mystery will soon be back in her element, and she can’t wait. So what to do in the time between now and going to London? San Diego this weekend, Washington, DC next weekend, and more adventures beyond.
